Achilles (3Win8): a Trojan War slot with three jackpot boxes

Achilles is one of the older slots in the 3Win8 lobby, and it wears its theme plainly: a sandy fort behind the reels, the hero in a crested helmet, a wooden horse, Helen, and the walled city of Troy as the scatter. Underneath the Greek costume it is a standard five-reel, three-row game.

The old page for this title was two bare screenshots. This one reads those screenshots properly, plus a third we found, so you know what you are looking at before you spend credit on it.

The reel screen

In the capture above the game runs 5 lines at a bet of 0.02, and one line has paid 0.06 through the Achilles symbol in the middle of reel 2. The line numbers are stacked down both edges of the reels (1 to 20), coloured to match the lines they draw.

Above the reels sit three counters: MINOR, the larger RANDOM JACKPOT in the centre, and MAJOR. The values change between captures (MINOR 700.00 in one, 1000.00 in the other), which tells you they are live displays, not fixed prizes.

With all 20 lines on and the bet at 0.10, the screen fills with coloured paylines, as in the shot above. The bottom bar is simple: arrow buttons either side of LINES and BET, then a BET/WIN readout.

Reading the paytable

The help page lays out the pays by symbol:

• Achilles (substitute): 10000 for five, 2500 for four, and small pays for three, two and even one. It stands in for everything except the scatter.
• Troy (scatter): 500, 30 and 3 for five, four and three anywhere, multiplied by total bet.
• Helen: 5000 for five, down to 5 for two.
• Wooden horse, shield, banner: mid-tier pays.
• A, K, Q, J, 10, 9: the low end, from 400 for five aces down to 3.

A note at the bottom says all symbols pay left to right except Troy, which pays anywhere. That is all the rules page tells us. There is no RTP figure and no free-game description on it.

Who it suits
